Sierra
Watercolor Society enjoys a wonderfully varied membership of
artists ranging all the way from professionals to amateurs. Besides a
mutual love of watercolors, we share our support and encouragement with
each other as we grow in knowledge and skill.
The
Sierra Watercolor Society was originally started by Joyce
Burke as an informal group of aqua media artists.
It
is highly respected locally, and offers a wide
range of
art activities in Northern Nevada.

prizes and ribbons awarded. All members are encouraged to enter
their art in these exhibits.
Art Angels
SWS provides free watercolor workshops for local elementary students.
This SWS program benefits the community as volunteer members give demonstrations
and provide hands-on painting experiences with the children. SWS also

May Museum. SWS donates all supplies for these workshops.
